Suzy Canter

Suzy Canter, artist, children's book illustrator, filmmaker, animator, mother, wife and winemaker, is an alumni of the Pratt Institute in NYC and a member of the Society of Children's Book Writer's and Illustrators. Suzy's colorful, whimsical paintings have been used for children's books published by Little Brown and Co, Warner Juvenile Books and Viking Children's Books. Suzy's commissioned mural "The Journey of the Salmon" is part of the permanent collection in the Anchorage Children's Science Museum and illustrations from her children's book "Dr. Cat" are part of the Zimmerlli Children's Museum's permanent collection under the name Suzy Mandel Canter. Suzy has successfully created and designed an impressive array of artistic items including greeting cards, coloring books,stickers and calendars. Her glass sculptures and jewelry have been sold and displayed in stores and galleries throughout NYC, as well as being part of exhibitions at the Fashion Institute of Technology and the East Village Designer's Group. Suzy is a celebrated filmmaker and animator, most notably known for winning a Telly in 2008 for the biography of her father, Saul Mandel. www.theartofsaulmandel.com Suzy has lectured and assisted teaching visual art at the Pacific New Media University of Hawaii and she created a series of vinyl sculptures that were used in the set design for Betty Jones and Fritz Ludin's "Dances We Dance" Modern Dance Company, which remain part of the company's permanent collection. Tiana Dauwalter

Tiana is a children's book illustrator from a small town in southwestern Minnesota. She loves living on her hobby farm in the country, loves animals, going to the lake and finding treasures at flea markets. She is an alumni of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration. Tom Grodek

Tom focuses on children's book illustration and loves the idea of building worlds and franchises specifically for kids. Whether it be science fiction, fantasy or just pure childhood imagination, Tom hopes to bring whole new universes to life for the picture book market. His work is a mix of digital and traditional techniques. He typically begins on paper but finishes onscreen, with a goal of obscuring the line between traditional and digital. Tom's illustration work features bold colors, cinematic compositions and kids being kids. Since graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a Bachelors Degree in Illustration, Tom has spent most of the last decade in marketing as a production artist, designer and art director. Tom Zilis

I have an extensive experience working in the commercial art field. I focus on illustration, cartooning (both editorial and illustrative) and graphic design. My career has included working freelance as well as working internally for agencies/design firms and in corporate creative departments in positions ranging from graphic designer to art director. Among the many projects I have worked on I've illustrated a wide variety of children's books and educational materials. These have covered a wide array of topics using different illustrative styles appropriate to the subject matter both in traditional media and digital. My work includes creating editorial cartoons for a newspaper, creating illustrations for advertising, storyboarding as well as creating icons for Fortune 200 and 500 companies.
